Cumberland Medical Center officials announce plans to construct new facility in Fairfield Glade

CROSSVILLE-In a called press meeting held in the J. W. Brown Boardroom at Cumberland Medical Center on Wednesday, April 20, Board Chairman Ed Anderson announced the hospital’s plans to build a new medical facility in Fairfield Glade.

Mr. Anderson said the structure could potentially house physician offices, a clinical laboratory, durable medical equipment services, digital mammography, sleep study services and more. The new project will be constructed adjacent to the current CMC Wellness Complex, on the corner of Stonehenge Drive and Village Drive.

“CMC is really excited about this announcement,” said Dr. Barry Wagner, CMC’s CEO. “We look forward to working with the Fairfield Glade Community Club.”

Several members of the Fairfield Glade Community Club Board of Directors were on hand for the announcement. Bob Citkovic, FGCC board President said, “We share in the excitement about the new services that will be available in Fairfield Glade. We would like to say thanks to Cumberland Medical Center for investing in the future of our community.”

Groundbreaking for construction is tentatively set for July 1, 2011.

CMC plans to have officials available at the April 28 meeting of the Fairfield Glade Community Club Board of Directors to answer questions from residents.
