After a down year for movies in 2010, Hollywood has come back with a vengeance in 2011.
This year has already produced some big movie releases and this summer’s line-up could be one for the record books. The official start to the summer blockbusters was likely Fast Five, the latest in the Fast & the Furious series. It set a new record for the largest opening in April and is Universal’s largest opening ever. The very next weekend Thor: The Mighty Avenger hammered into theaters with a $66 million opening.
Hot on Thor’s heels Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides set sail May 20th and that’s just the beginning.
This summer we will see the release of huge movie debuts week after week after week. Here is a quick glance at what to expect.
