The Board of Directors of Cumberland County Bank is pleased to announce that David Kinchler has been named President and Chief Executive Officer.

Bill Startup, who previously held the position, is named President Emeritus.

Startup looks forward to retirement at year-end after a 40-year career in banking, with the last 25 years at Cumberland County Bank.

“We are most fortunate to have a person with Kinchler’s impressive abilities to assume the leadership of our institution,” said Startup. “His banking credentials are excellent and he is an experienced community banker with a career already spanning 20 years, the last six as President and CEO of a community bank in north Alabama. David, his wife Julie, and their four children will be a wonderful addition to our community.”

Startup added that “Cumberland County Bank celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2011, and we are both confident and excited about the future as David Kinchler leads us into the next 50 years.”
