Entrepreneurs interested in starting a business, or those who recently started a business, are invited to participate in a new “Jumpstart Your Business” seminar series sponsored by the Cumberland Business Incubator and its partners.
The first workshop will be held March 18, and the five-session series concludes April 15. All sessions will be held in the Community Room at Roane State Community College’s Cumberland County campus, 2567 Cook Road in Crossville.
Admission to the first workshop, “Small Business Start-Up,” is a charitable contribution of one can of food. The canned goods will be given to a local charity.
Each of the four remaining sessions – Fundamentals of Financing, How to Write a Business Plan, How to Conduct Market Research, and Marketing on a Shoe String – cost $8 each. However, participants can reserve seats in all four sessions for $20.
“If you have a new business or are thinking about starting one, the workshop series ‘Jumpstart Your Business’ will provide insight into common challenges faced by every start-up and offer solutions to some of the common problems,” said Robert Safdie, Director of the Cumberland Business Incubator.
“Participants will work with CBI specialists. The sessions are very hands-on and by completing the entire program, individuals will be able to assess their business potential and make progress toward creating a business plan. Advisors from the Small Business Development Center will conduct the classes.”
Individuals who sign up for the series will receive a jump-drive loaded with valuable information to help them get their business off the ground or growing. They will also receive a certificate of achievement upon completion of all sessions. Completing the CBI series will result in Credit For Attendance (CFA) points for candidates who wish to apply for residency in the Cumberland Business Incubator.
