City of Crossville passes new ordinance Making it illegal to sell Synthetic Marijuana/Bath Salts

The City of Crossville passed the ordinance to ban the sale, possession, or distribution of any synthetic mixture by any retail establishment within the city limits. These items are known as synthetic marijuana and bath salts. The number of arrests within the last six months has increased dramatically associated with these synthetic substances. These substances are a serious health concern to the general public due to their side effects and unknown long term effects both physically and psychologically. These products are clearly marked “NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION”, but has not deterred individuals from purchasing and ingesting them for their euphoric effects.
